A 4-month-old baby was found dead Saturday in a Walmart parking lot in Georgia, according to Walmart spokesman Josh DeCaro.
The baby, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner’s office.
The baby was placed into the care of a child welfare agency and transported to a hospital.
Walmart spokeswoman Rebecca Gullick said the baby’s father had not been contacted by authorities.
Walmart did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Walmart store in the shopping center, located just west of Atlanta, is in a shopping center and a parking lot, Gullink said.
The location is not within a Walmart Supercenter.
DeCaros family said they had visited the store at least once in recent years.
