The Indian supermarket chain Bhabha Foods Ltd has opened its first brand of the mango jam, coconut ice creams and a strawberry ice cream.
The ‘lucky mango’ is named after the Indian goddess of luck and is marketed in stores by the name ‘Mango Jam’, which has been around for about 40 years.
The brand, which sells in over a dozen countries including the US, UK, Australia and India, has been created to appeal to a younger generation who are not accustomed to eating mangoes, the company said in a statement.
“This mango jam is a ‘lonely’ product that has been in the market for almost 40 years, which we think is a perfect product to cater to the young generation.
The coconut icecream is a mango-infused ice cream that has the same name and flavor profile as the mango, which makes it a natural choice for this age group,” it added.
Mango jam is sold in Indian stores by its Indian brand name, and the brand has also started selling ice creamer, jam and ice cream from other regions of India.
The company said that mango jam was developed in collaboration with an Indian scientist.
“The mango is considered as the symbol of success in the life of a man.
We have chosen mango as the main ingredient in our mango jam,” it said.
It said the brand’s mango jam comes in a variety of flavours, including mango ice cream, coconut jam and strawberry jam.
“Mango is an iconic ingredient for the Indians, and is the only fruit that is edible in the entire world,” it noted.
