The owner, Jose Manuel Guevara, is a farmer in the region who makes his living from selling flowers to locals, a hobby that he says is his “daily life.”
Guevada says his business grew during the height of the drug war in 2010 when he was working in a neighboring town and was forced to sell the flowers he sold to the drug cartel.
Guevaras livelihood was destroyed, and he left Mexico in 2014.
Gues flower shop is now selling its flowers for $3.50 to $6 per pound, according to the Associated Press.
Gues website also lists a $10 fee for wholesale.
Flowers for Rent is an online marketplace for flower sellers in Mexico.
